RULES OF PLAY

Draw: 8:00 pm Thursdays at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62 located in Sarnia.
Sales: The prize drum will be kept at the sales site until the draw
Thursdays: Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62 located at 285 Christina Street North, Sarnia, Ontario
Ticket Sale Times: 12:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
Persons buying tickets must be 18+ years of age.
Ticket price: $10.00 each, or 3 for $20.00 using either DEBIT/CREDIT/CASH.
Tickets are only valid for the draw for which they are purchased.
Tickets may not be purchased by ‘Royal Canadian Legion Br 62 ‘Catch The Ace’ Head of Security and
the Ticket Seller(s)
A series of tickets with numbers not previously sold will be used for the next draw(s).
Ticket Purchase:
Tickets consist of 2 portions.
Portion 1, remains with the branch and is placed into the drum.
Portion 1, the patron will fill in their first and last name, phone number, and the envelope number that
they chose, if their ticket is selected.
Portion 1, will be manually placed into the drum by the patron.
Portion 2, will remain with the patron at all times.
If the ticket holder is not present and did not put a number in the circle, or a number was chosen but had
been previously drawn, or the number is not clearly legible, the licensee will choose the lowest number
envelope available.
After the draw every attempt will be made to contact the winner at the phone number presented on the
ticket to advise of their draw winnings and to secure an address to mail the cheque or arrange for pick-up.
Should the above circumstances present itself and the ticket holder is in attendance, they may choose any
available envelope.

If the ticket does not have a phone number, the prize winner will be announced at the draw. If the patron
is not in attendance, the funds for that draw will be held in trust for a period of 6 months. After those 6
months the funds will revert to a beneficiary approved by the licensing authority. The licensee will make
every reasonable effort to contact the winner, e.g. social media, print media, and radio.
Draw Procedures:
All draws will be digitally recorded including the envelope selection, card reveal and destruction of the
envelope and card. This will ensure the integrity of each draw.
Tickets from each draw will be retained for a period of 30 days after which they will be destroyed.
A Representative from the Royal Canadian Legion Br 62 will announce the amount of tickets sales, the
20% winning ticket portion, the 30% cumulative progressive amount, if the card drawn is not the Ace of
Spades, and the total of the progressive jackpot. Further, a representative, will:
Draw a ticket from the drum.
Display the winning ticket and the envelope selection number, to the digital recording.
Remove the selected envelope from the secure case – open the envelope and display the card located
inside to the digital recording.
If the Ace of Spades is in the numbered envelope selected, the winner will be awarded the total amount
consisting of 20% of the evening sales plus the current progressive jackpot.
If the card is not the Ace of Spades it will be recorded, and destroyed.
Once the Ace of Spades has been drawn, the remaining cards and tickets pertaining to that draw will be
held and destroyed after 30 days.
If the Ace of Spades has not been located and only one envelope remains, the lottery is in a “MUST GO”
situation and the following strategy will be in place:
Tickets will be sold for the final draw only within the sale times specified.
The first ticket drawn will win 20% of the evening revenue and the remaining envelope will be opened to
reveal the Ace of Spades and the progressive jackpot will be awarded.
In case of weather (road closures etc.) on sales or draw days, application will be made to delay until the
following week. Patrons will be notified via radio (99.9 – The Fox) and Facebook.
